Chris Taft, Principal / Director MHBD
Chris has been an integral component of the MHBD team since its inception in 2003. Drawing on his 25 plus years of industry experience, Chris offers clients his wide range of knowledge and skills. With a strong understanding of construction and the intricacies of the design process, Chris brings a considered and practical approach to every project. His experience spans a diverse range of residential, development and commercial projects, with a particular focus on creating architecture that is both distinctive and responsive to its surroundings. Chris is closely involved throughout the design and delivery of each project, working collaboratively with clients, consultants and builders to ensure that the original design intent is carried through to completion.
Carly Taft, Administration Manager
Carly provides the essential administrative foundation that supports the day-to-day operation of MHBD. Working behind the scenes, she oversees the financial, organisational and administrative functions of the practice, ensuring the studio operates smoothly, efficiently and seamlessly. Her attention to detail and organisational expertise play an important role in supporting the broader MHBD team and the continued success of the practice.
Michael Higgins, Principal/Director MHBD
Mike began his career in December 1988, in Queenscliff, working with highly respected Architect - Bill Reynolds. Working in Bill’s office for 15 years, Mike primarily focused on residential design projects & aged hostel facilities. In 2003, Mike embarked on his own journey, departing Queenscliff, with Bills’ blessing and the MHBD office was formed. With over 30 years industry experience under his belt, Mike is able to offer clients a total package for any type of design project they might wish to undertake whether it be a residential, commercial or industrial project, a new build or renovations to existing. He is a talented and accomplished designer, with a distinctive and identifiable style to his work. As an Ocean Grove resident for over 40 years, Mike finds living and working in the area he operates in, provides a sound understanding of the local processes & real estate market trends.
